LPPSR Tribal Office & Community Center Open House

The Lone Pine Paiute-Shoshone Reservation Tribal Office has moved into their new home at 937 Teya Road, Lone Pine, CA. The building also houses the Community Center which will be offered for community events and training sessions for all community members.

The Open House will take place on Friday, April 23 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. There will be refreshments and booths such as the YO! Program displaying their services and giving away free gifts to those who stop by and visit.

The YO! program youth will be selling raffle tickets for the big prize of a Pendleton jacket. Other prizes will be offered such as handmade beadwork, candlesticks and many other prizes. The raffle will take place that afternoon.

Visitors will also be able to view the photo gallery of the lPPSR community elders taken by a local photographer, Dennis Mattinson.

This is a wonderful opportunity to visit the new facility and to meet and chat with other community members.

NEW YOUTH OPPORTUNITY
PROGRAM (yo!)
CENTER

The Youth Opportunity Program (YO!) was fortunate to take over the facility of the old LPPSR Tribal Office located at 1103 South Main Street, Lone Pine, CA when the Tribal Office moved into their new building.

The YO! program has spread its wings by adding an entertainment center, two study/computer rooms, a reading area, and a large meeting room for the youth to use as needed.

We are waiting for new computers and printers to arrive soon so we can service more youth.

The YO! Center is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and some evenings and weekends for planned activities. All youth are welcome to come, whether to use a computer, study or watch a video.
